Criminal Background Checks in Iberia Parish

The Iberia Parish Clerk of Court offers criminal background checks for a fee of $20.00 per name. These checks are available during a slightly shorter window than standard office hours. Requests are accepted from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Do not arrive after 4:00 PM expecting to complete a background check that day.

There is one firm requirement the Iberia Parish Clerk enforces without exception. You must bring a copy of the driver's license of the individual being searched. the Iberia Parish Clerk will not process the request without it. No exceptions are made. If you arrive without a copy of the subject's driver's license, you will need to come back. Make sure you have that document before you go.

One limitation applies to these checks. The Iberia Parish criminal background check only covers charges filed in local courts. It does not include criminal records from the City of New Iberia, and it does not pull data from other Louisiana parishes. If you need a check that covers multiple parishes or the full state, contact the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information. The BCII handles statewide criminal history checks through its background check program at lsp.org/services/background-checks.

The ClerkConnect multi-parish portal at clerkconnect.com can also be used to search criminal indices across participating Louisiana parishes including Iberia Parish, which may give broader criminal coverage than the local clerk check.

Online Criminal Records Access in Iberia Parish

Iberia Parish uses two separate online systems for public criminal records access. They are ClerkConnect and EclerksLA. These are not the same system. A subscription to one does not grant access to the other. Each has its own login and its own payment structure. If you want access to both portals, you must subscribe to each separately.

ClerkConnect is the portal for civil and criminal court records here. Through ClerkConnect, you can search civil records going back to January 1, 1980, and criminal records going back to November 30, 1959. This is a wide range of criminal history. If you need older records, you may need to contact the Iberia Parish Clerk's office directly. Subscriptions are available by the day, by the month, or by the year.

EclerksLA is a different system that focuses on property and land records. Through EclerksLA, you can access conveyance records from 1868 to the present, plats from 1868 forward, and mortgage records from January 1, 1959 onward. This is more relevant to title searches and real estate, but the overlap is worth noting if you need both types of Iberia Parish records.

If you already have a subscription to one system and want to mirror it to the other, you can request that. Contact wrobison@iberiaclerk.com to arrange a mirrored subscription. Not all users know this option exists, so it is worth asking if you need both record systems regularly.
